During my physiotherapy internship in Australia in February 2024, I had the chance to meet David and Susan, who is suffering from dementia.

I met them during a home visit and it deeply affected me. As I entered their house for the first time, I was immediately struck by the peaceful atmosphere. The walls were adorned with family photos, travel souvenirs, and personal touches that reflected their shared life. Every element of the house testified to their deep love and shared history.

Dementia and Alzheimer's disease are devastating trials that not only affect the person afflicted but also their surroundings.

David embodies the role of the devoted caregiver, providing Susan with all the love, support, and care she needs on a daily basis.
